Green Chemistry
There are more than 80,000 synthetic chemicals in commerce today. Green Chemistry, the science of creating less toxic or entirely non-toxic chemicals to replace those harmful to humans and the environment, is making a small but important dent in this multi-billion dollar industry. In this audio segment from PRI's The World Science Podcast we hear from Elizabeth Grossman, author of Chasing Molecules about how scientists are changing the raw materials used by chemists, and why Green Chemistry is an attractive alternative for industries.
